Our Story
Welcome to the Rock Creek Conservation Club Website.

Our club was founded in 1936 by a group of likeminded sportsmen and conservationists in support of sporting traditions and community involvement on local conservation issues. Those commitments remain firmly in place today with a new generation of membership that in some cases includes family members of the original founders. Over the years, the club has been a gathering place for planning fishing and hunting trips, card games and regular monthly meetings.

While always located along the banks of the Grand River on Shaffer Road in Morgan Township, the current location is now on the north side of the road and housed in a log cabin built in the 1970’s to replace a previous clubhouse that was destroyed by fire. The club property includes a lake, trap shooting range, a pair of outdoor pavilions and frontage on the Grand River.

Current activities and events include a spring wild game dinner, summer Kid’s Fishing Derby, Fall clambake and Winter turkey shoots and 22 shoots. There is a regular weekly trap shoot on Wednesday evenings that is open to the public. Club meetings are traditionally held on the first Sunday of each month, but please refer to the event calendar to confirm meeting times.

The club is a member of The Ashtabula County Conservation League and enjoys close relationships with the Morgan Township Trustees and Morgan Township Volunteer Fire Department. Membership is open via sponsorship by an existing club member. Working and non-working memberships are available.
